Grandma allows her son to rape her 12-year-old granddaughter

A young girl was betrayed by every member of her family.

A young girl was raped by her uncle while her grandmother was in the house and did nothing when the girl cried out for help.

The grandmother failed to stop her uncle from raping her. Then, the family went against victim's wishes and forgave the rapist. They accepted money from him as compensation for the rape, instead of calling police. The teen was sexually abused by her 34-year-old uncle, who is the girl’s mother’s brother, while she was visiting her grandmother.

The 12-year-old from Mpumalanga, South Africa, has said that her uncle raped her while his grandmother was with her, but she did nothing to help. "My uncle told me he was going to kill me if I told anyone. I do not understand why my grandmother was in the room. There is no secret," she said.

The girl told her father about the incident and she wanted her uncle, who is a married man, to be locked up forever for destroying her life. The girl’s 66-year-old father, who is a pastor, said he has forgiven the man and accepted a payment of almost $5,000."We are Christians and do not believe in punishing people who have already apologized. This man has repented for his sins," he said.

The girl's uncle does not deny anything. He met the girl’s parents on Saturday and offered to pay damages. He then handed over almost $5,000.00, which the family accepted. "I know what I did was wrong. I do not know what came over me. I left my wife at home and headed to my niece. I'm so sorry," the rapist said.

“Good Christian parents protect their child, not the rapist who harmed their child. Police should investigate as to how many other rapists the pastor has forgiven instead of giving them over to police,” John Aguiar, 50, of Gauteng, South Africa told YourJewishNews.com when asked his opinion about the father who forgave his brother-in-law who raped his daughter.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Gerald Sedibe said police cannot do anything if the family does not file a complaint. "We need families to report these issues so we can investigate," Sedibe said.

Grandmother jailed for 10 years for child rape

An Mpumalanga pensioner has been sentenced to 10 years in jail by the Nelspruit Regional Court for helping her boyfriend rape her seven-year-old grandchild, and infecting her with HIV.

The 67-year-old woman, from Daantjie near Mbombela, was arrested with her boyfriend in 2008 following the repeated rape of her grandchild, a Sapa correspondent reported on Friday.

She may not be named to protect the child's identity. She pleaded not guilty to rape, conspiracy to commit rape, and attempted murder.

The court heard that the boyfriend, who was HIV-positive, had died.

Passing sentence on Thursday, Magistrate Andre Geldenhuys said although the woman was reported to have been infected with the HI-virus by her boyfriend, she denied being positive before court, saying she used muti to cure herself.

"You said you knew he was HIV-positive, and you used muti. But your health is poor and you currently are on crutches, indicating you suffer from disabilities," Geldenhuys said.

"It is clear you still have the virus."

He said the woman was convicted of helping in the rape of her grandchild, by keeping guard for her boyfriend during the rapes.

"As her grandmother, you should have protected her as she is your daughter's child. But you carried on and exposed her to such violation and humiliation. What makes things worse is that it happened not once but several times, and on different days," he said.

Geldenhuys said there was no evidence about whether the boyfriend influenced her or not, as she had denied any involvement and did not testify.

"The fact is that you have been found guilty of playing a role by assisting him. What is more aggravating is that you show no remorse, which gives this court no substantial and compelling circumstances for a lesser sentence," he said.

He denied her leave to appeal the conviction.

My wife starves me of sex and food, cheats on me – Pastor Andrew Ndubisi narrates in court

A 39-year-old pastor, Andrew Ndubisi, has told an Igando Customary Court, Lagos, to dissolve his four-year-old marriage over sex and food starvation, citing that his body is neither made of wood nor iron.

He said: “My wife (Saraphina) starves me of food and sex. She always gives excuses whenever I want to make love to her. Despite all my pleading, she will not allow me; my body is not a stone or iron rod.

“Apart from sex, she also denies me food; she is a poor cook and hardly cooks. Whenever she does, is either the food is too salty or watery.

“If I complain, she will take the food and dispose of it and she will never apologise; I used to buy food to eat or go hungry.”

The petitioner, according to the NAN, also accused his wife of infidelity.

“My wife is having an affair. Last February 1, I called my wife with a new SIM I just bought.

“Unknown to her, she never knew who was calling; she said is it because my wife was around that I refused call or visit her. It was then that I knew that my wife was having an affair.

“I refused to respond. I waited for her to do the talking; she started calling me sweet names and told me how much she loves me.

“She insisted I should say something; I later revealed myself to her and she was shocked. Before I got home, she has packed out with our three-year-old daughter.

“When she did not return for days, I reported at the police station; I also went to the radio and television stations including a newspaper, to place announcement of a missing person.”

Saraphina, a 31-year-old businesswoman, welcomed the divorce. The petitioner, however, denied all the allegations against her.

But why would a Pastor's wife cheat on him with an Okada rider?

A pastor at Victory in Christ Gospel Ministry, Egbeda, Chris Onyekachi-Madu, 45, who resides at 1, Bola Kadiri Street in Egbeda area of Lagos State, has told an Igando Customary Court to dissolve his 18-year marriage to his estranged wife, Augusta Madu, for getting pregnant for an Okada man.

He said he doesn’t love her anymore because she slept with an Okada man in his house, got pregnant and then packed out to start living with him.
Narrating his ordeal before the court, Madu said his wife, with whom he had two children, started fighting him on a daily basis while also bringing strange men into their home.
He said: “They come to my house at about 11p.m. There was a day I had to interrogate a man that she brought home. She introduced her to me as her pastor.”
He said further that his wife brought an Okada man to his house, who she introduced to him as someone that would be taking their children to and from school.
Onyekachi-Madu further stated that the Okada rider, after taking his children to school in the morning and bringing them back, would then take his wife away even in his presence, adding that this happened on three consecutive occasions, after which she slept over the fourth time.
The court President, Rasack Isola-Adeyeri, adjourned the matter to January 28 for judgment.

61 Pupils In Akatsi North Pregnant In 2 Months

Sixty-One basic school girls in the Akatsi-North District of the Volta Region, got pregnant during the past two months and are now out of school.

Dr. Anthony Ashinyo, the District Director of health, disclosed this to The Ghanaian Times, at Ave-Dakpa yesterday, and said the girls were between the ages of 12 and 19.

He described the situation as very alarming, considering the fact that during the whole of last year, 120 of such cases were recorded in the district, with a population of 34,400.

The frightening figures may just be a tip of the iceberg because not all of such cases are reported at the Government Health Centre at Ave-Dakpa, the district capital,” he emphasized.

According to Dr. Ashinyo, the men who impregnated the girls were adults between the ages of 20 and 47.

He said a recent survey by the health centre also revealed that there is a high trend of girls under the age of 16 getting married, due to deep-rooted cultural beliefs in the district.

When contacted, the District Chief Executive, Mr. James Gunu, blamed the situation largely on widespread parental neglect in the district.

He also revealed that in 2013, all the female candidates of the West African Senior School Certificate Extermination (WASSCE) at Matsrikasa, also in the district were pregnant.

Mr. Gunu assured that the Assembly was collaborating with the Ghana Education Service, and PTAs to adopt the appropriate measures to reverse the trend.

Lagos Pastor Files for Divorce after Wife Cheats on Him with Another Pastor

A Lagos-based pastor, Jack*, on Tuesday pleaded with an Orile Agege Customary Court to dissolve his marriage as a result of his wife’s alleged adultery and desertion.

Jack, 49, told the court that his wife, Kate* had an affair with his pastor-friend whom he invited for a church programme, Daily Independent reports. According to him, Kate subsequently left their matrimonial home since 2011 and has not returned.

Giving his account, Jack stated:

“When my pastor-friend came to Lagos on my invitation for our church programme, I noticed how my wife was admiring him which made me to suspect a foul play. After the pastor had returned to his base in Ibadan, my wife was nowhere to be found in Lagos, so I traced her to Ibadan and met her with the pastor.

Before she left finally in 2011, whenever she left the house in the morning, she would only return late in the night, she was not taking care of me and my family. She would not welcome my family members anytime they come to our house, she did not take care of my mother when she was sick for four years until the woman died.

The worst of it is that she denied me sex before she left but I maintained my integrity not to commit adultery.

I reported her to her mother but instead for my wife to heed the counsel of her mother, she chose to fight me, he said.”

According to reports, Kate has refused to show up for the fifth hearing. Court officials instructed the bailiff to serve her the court order again.

The case has been adjourned till March 23 for further hearing.
