Apostle Simon Mokoena Living The Legacy

 

Apostle Simon Mokoena is indeed a multi-talented man, he is an author, musician, preacher, teacher, humanitarian, poet and TV presenter. 

He was born in eNthuzuma in Kwa-Zulu Natal province. 

He has been in the ministry for 25 years. 

Having attended Rhema Bible College, he started the Show-Tell Bible Church in Qwaqwa, where he was the pastor for 15 years. 

From the inception of the Show-Tell Bible Church, Apostle Mokoena knew in his spirit that he had to make the transition into the Apostolic calling.

In 1998, Apostle Mokoena attended a conference in Port Elizabeth, where he met Apostle John Eckhardt from Chicago, USA who gave him a prophecy, which inspired him to follow his true calling.

Apostle Eckhardt said Son, I have given you a vision which is beyond religion and beyond tradition. I’ve called you to draw near to the anointing. Son, I am going to teach you what it means to walk in the Apostolic Anointing and in the Apostolic Vision and you are going to believe me for a change, even to impart to that region with powerful anointing and to shake that territory, for man called it Free State, but I am going to release it in the liberty of the Holy Ghost, it shall not be Free State in name only but I am going to cause liberty in the spirit to come and I am going to call men and women to know the liberty of the Spirit and they are going to prophecy, preach, rejoice and plant churches. I’ll put a new strategy in your hands and give you wisdom to pioneer new things in that territory said God… and you are going to build a new standard of ministry, a model church that others can come to look at, and duplicate yourself…’Thus said the Lord!

Apostle Mokoena founded Tyrannus Apostolic Church in 2000 and under his guidance and leadership the church has developed into one of the fastest-growing churches in South Africa with branches in all nine provinces as well as neighbouring countries such as Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Namibia and Mozambique.

 

 

The name of the church,Tyrannus Apostolic Church is the name I found in the bible, in the book of:

Acts 19 verse 8

Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three month, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God. But some of them become obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned ÒThe WayÓ. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. The Apostle Paul arrived at the ancient city of Ephesians where he found a church leadership of twelve men of the cloth. He also discovered widespread lack of seriousness in the Ephesians church. Apostle Paul concluded that the church leadership needed Spiritual upgrade.

It is in this text that I found the inspiration and the revelation from GOD that the church of today needed apostolic and prophetic teachings. After fifteen years in the ministry, I discovered that I had not yet attained what I was destined to achieve in the service of God. I then started on this Spiritual journey. Many scoffed at the route that had been revealed to me, in much the same way that people had scoffed at Paul’s.

When they rejected his teachings, Paul left the church and established his tent at a school called Tyrannus, in the same manner that Moses did in ancient times. We saw how the Ephesians subsequently embraced the Word of God from the Apostle Paul, and it was the same when we started Tyrannus Apostolic Church.
