The South African Football Association (SAFA) must do the sensible thing and re-hire Clive Barker to coach Bafana Bafana again.

After a successful spell as the head coach of the SA's senior soccer men's team since early 1994 till his stepped in December 1997, a few months before defending his 1996 African Nations Cup glory on home-soil, Barker unceremoniously axed after the teams early exist in the Confederations Cup held in Saudi Arabia.

Bafana Bafana had qualified to play in the inter-continental tournament due to them being African Champions in 1996.

If Barker had stay on after his exist in December 1997, he would have been the first coach to coach Bafana Bafana to the 1998 Soccer Wold Cup in France. Barker had qualified South Africa to the world's greatest show.

Currently, Barker has just joined SA's Premier League outfit Maritzburg United.

In an newspaper interview in the early 2000s Barker admitted that he had to strike a deal with SAFA that he would resign instead of being fired.

But what is now clear is that Bafana Bafana are far away from being #No 1 in Africa and #No 16 world, which they had achieved under Barker coaching.

Also in 1996, under Barker, FIFA bestowed Bafana Bafana with an international award as the most improved team, a Best Mover of the Year.

All the other coaches have not achieved anything close to what Barker achieved.

Barker was a professional footballer in the 1960s, playing for Durban City and Durban United having made his debut at the age of 17. He had a trial with Leicester City, but a serious knee injury quickly ended his career.

"The Dog", as he is nicknamed, became a manager in the 1970s, coaching numerous clubs in South Africa, including Durban City, Manning Rangers,AmaZulu (Zulu Royals) and Santos Cape Town. In the 1980s he won championships with various teams.

During his club career he won two league championships and two league cups. He was one of the first white managers in the South African league.

In 2013, Barker took Wits University to forth spot of South Africa's highest league the PSL. He has won numerous awrds/honours and other many accolades.

Today, Bafana Bafana are 23 years old and are ranked #No 17 in Africa and 72 in the world. Clearly Barker was the best thing to have happened to Bafana Bafana and probably to South African soccer generally.

SAFA must do South Africa a huge favor return Barker to coach Bafana Bafana.

Bafana Bafana are still the pride of the nation.

PRESS RELEASE
Africa tourism set for sustained growth
The hotel and tourism industry in Africa is beginning a period of sustained growth, according to the sector’s leading experts gathered at the Africa Hotel Investment Forum in Addis Ababa
LONDON, United Kingdom, 5 October 2015/ --  The hotel and tourism industry in Africa is beginning a period of sustained growth, according to the sector’s leading experts gathered at the Africa Hotel Investment Forum in Addis Ababa (http://www.Africa-Conference.com).

The conference heard that inward international flights were recovering after being hit by the ebola outbreak.
And the hotel sector reported significant expansion, as well as increased visitor numbers, boosted by demand from African business.

Now in its fifth year, AHIF (30 September to 1 October 2015)  brought together 500-plus leading international hotel investors, local operators, ministers, government officials and industry experts from around 40 countries.

The immediate good news came from ForwardKeys, which monitors future travel patterns by analysing 14 million reservation transactions each day.
Its analysis showed there was an increase of 6.4% in international arrivals in September in Sub-Saharan Africa. The upturn marked a turning point after the ebola outbreak, which had wiped out four years of strong growth.

Flight bookings for the next six months suggest a sustained recovery. The data shows arrivals on-the-book (bookings for travel in future) from October 2015 to March 2016 are now running 4% ahead, compared with the same period last year. (See graph in Multimedia content.)

The growing opportunities for investment in hotels on the continent were revealed in the African Hotel Report 2015.
Hotel Partners Africa identified the top ten opportunities. Nigeria heads the list with the strongest economy, but with only 34 branded hotel bedrooms per million population. This compares with 6,754 branded hotel bedrooms per million population in North America and 2,432 bedrooms per million in Europe. Ghana with 59 bedrooms and Cote d’Ivoire with 61 bedrooms also present great opportunities with very strong unmet demand. [See Multimedia content: Supply of Branded Hotels in Africa (by Region)]

The 2015 African Hotel Valuation Index, released at the conference by HVS, revealed that the African hotel sector was becoming less reliant on foreign visitors with increased demand from local businesses.
The Index showed African hotel brands such as Azalai, City Lodge and Protea were trading well, with a number of hotel investors showing faith in the continent.

South Africa: Rael renews support for President Jacob Zuma of South Africa

International Raelian Movement (IRM)
PRESS RELEASE
Rael renews support for President Jacob Zuma of South Africa
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 2 October 2015/ --  In a statement released today, Rael, spiritual leader of the International Raelian Movement (http://www.rael.org), expressed congratulations and full support for President Jacob Zuma of South Africa. He applauded Zuma’s recent statements about Christianity’s key role in causing the problems now facing Kama (the pre-colonial, indigenous term for Africa.)

Rael reminded Africans that the enslavement of millions of black Africans sent to the Americas and Europe, plus the suffering that wrought, were due to a pope’s pronouncement that “the black has no soul” and could therefore be captured and sold as an animal.

Rael also reiterated his request that African blacks massively apostatize from a Christian church “that imposed itself by force and violence.”

“The black peoples should always remember that their ancestors had no choice, but were forced to become Christians to escape torture and death,” he said.
“Today, apostasy is the only remaining way for black Christians to obtain the forgiveness of their ancestors.” He added that those ancestors “are in heaven with the Elohim” (the extraterrestrial scientists who according to Raelian philosophy created all life on Earth).

In 2011, Rael awarded Zuma the title “Honorary Guide for Humanity,” citing statements Zuma had made about the role of the Catholic Church in destroying the ancestral family structure, in which there were no orphans.

“All Raelians in Kama are applauding and supporting President Zuma’s statements,” said Raelian Guide Dr. Tai Ehouan, head of Kama’s Raelian Movement.
“His insight shows that at least some leaders of Kama/Africa are conscious of the damage done by Christianity, and that they are concerned about the continent’s future.”

“After the worst possible treatments of our ancestors by the Catholic Church, how can a black be a Christian today?” asked Raelian Guide Uriel Nawej Kayemb, author of “White Poison,” a book whose subtitle, “A Black Christian is a Traitor to His Ancestors,” was inspired by Rael.

“Let us not forget that the truth about our origins can be found within the beautiful Zulu traditions,” Kayemb said.
“Traces of our creators from space, the Elohim of the original ancient Hebrew Bible, can be found in them.

The Zulu people worshiped these space people, who were known as the ‘Amazulu’ before the British and Christianity arrived. In the Zulu language, ‘Amazulu’ is a plural word. Like ‘Elohim,’ also a plural, it means ‘those who came from the sky.’ The name ‘Zulu’ is derived from the Amazulu, the Elohim, and Zulu traditions are closely linked to their ancient teachings.”
“During coming months in Kama, we will intensify the ongoing campaign of apostasy launched by Rael a decade ago,” Ehouan said. (See www.unitedkingdomsofkama.org.) “Kama must free itself!”
