‘By 2020 , NAFCOC will be the largest , premier and united business chamber playing an active role in South Africa’s economy , advocating for and producing prosperous andsuccessful business people within its ranks’

Our Guiding Principles and Values
• We will respect the voices of our members and act upon them
• We will gather our members voices into one big and firm voice
• We will be an independent, autonomous and progressive voice that will vigorously pursue the cause of its members.
• We will be accessible to our members needs and work with them
• We will strive to work with all the stakeholders of our economy for the benefit of our members.

KEY STRATEGIES

PURSUE THE CAUSE OF OUR MEMBERS AND GUIDE THE GROWTH OF
THEIR BUSINESS

To meet this target we will gather information from our members on their needs and put our staff and resources to work to ensure that our efforts are directed towards our members needs.

We will;
• Research our members’ needs.
• Provide training and mentorship programmes for our members.
• Relate and partner with key regulatory and development agencies of our country to address the issues affecting our members.
• Set up Investment Companies for all Affiliates so that they can generate own
income, empower their members and create markets.

ATTRACT AND MOBILISE MEMBERS INTO THE ORGANISATION

To embark on various campaigns drive to recruit business organisations and mobilise members from all Sectors and sizes including corporate membership in all the provinces of South Africa.
• We will hold campaign rallies.
• We will embark on a media campaign to publicise NAFCOC
• We will partner with different organisations on a win-win basis to get publicity
exposure.
• We shall be reachable in every Municipality and Tribal Authority through
agreements with SALGA, CONTRALESA and other bodies

LOBBYING FOR OUR MEMBERS CAUSE

To be involved in various lobbying activities using various platforms and methods.
i. We will voice the concerns of our members using various media platforms such as Radio, TV, Print Media, electronic media, social networks, websites and others.
ii. We will urge Parliament and Provincial Assemblies to pass pro-business legislation amend or repeal legislation that does not promote business.
iii. We will hold discussions and presentations with government at national, provincial and local levels to discuss the cause of small business.
iv. We will train, expose to and empower our members with lobbying skills to enable them to advocate, negotiate and defend trading and business rights in their local communities.
v. We will work with various organisations and institutions who share the same ideals with us regarding the empowerment of the small business sector.
vi. We will set up vibrant international desks to facilitate inbound and outbound trade missions.

BUSINESS DEAL MAKING &TRANSACTION ADVISORY

To transform the chamber into a platform where members make successful and quality business deals and where quality transaction advisory services are offered.
• We will urge our members to focus at business deal making rather than chamber politics.
• We will refocus the attention of our members from looking at the
Chamber Investment Company as a source of income to them running and
managing their own successful business ventures.
• We will create deal making and transaction advising desks in provincial and
chamber offices for our members.
• We will train our office administrators with ‘business project officer’ skills to
enable them to assist members who come to offices with basic business skills.

CREATING A NAFCOC OWNED BANK AIMED AT FUNDING SMALL
BUSINESSES

To establish a bank owned by NAFCOC and other strategic stakeholders that will give biasto small business banking and funding.
We will establish a small business bank with other like-minded partners.
We will seek government support in the establishment of this bank.
We will play a key role in the establishment of a Small Business Credit Reference Bureau that will look into the credit rating of small businesses based on a unique understanding of the small business sector.

ESTABLISHING AND STRENGTHENING VIABLE CHAMBERS AND FORUMS
OF SPECIAL GROUPS.

We will strengthen our Women and Youth Chambers to make them more responsive to matters relating to women and youth entrepreneurs.
We will establish a Sector of People living with disabilities to address the challenges faced by business people in this special group and offer other symbiotic support services

CREATING A UNITED AND PROGRESSIVE NAFCOC THAT CAN ATTEND TO
THE CAUSE OF ITS MEMBERSHIP

• We will make all efforts possible to find a common ground with all members and NAFCOC affiliated groupings to ensure unity in the organisation.
• We will seek to create a platform for mediation to enable unity in the organisation.
• We will set up strong exhibition events to market the products of members both internationally and locally.
• We will revitalise township and rural businesses through bulk buying, franchising and provision of premises to entrepreneurs.
• To secure for our members, Industrial Parks for provision of operating premises for industrialists particularly those owned by SEFA, Business Partners, ECDC, FDC, MEGA and LIMDEV.
• To give Our Members Access to Finance , Access to Markets and Access to
Non Financial Services through partnerships and cooperation relationships with relevant organizations and partners.
