YESTERDAY
MEYIWA’S CHILDREN WILL GET R2 MILLION
    Kelly Khumalo  ~
PSL Chairman Irvin Khoza announced that Senzo Meyiwa’s children will get a R2 million pay-out from the player’s life policy. The policy paid out a total of R4 million with the other R2 million going to Meyiwa’s club Orlando Pirates.
Senso’s father Sam Meyiwa, the family spokesperson Siyabonga Meyiwa and the goalkeeper’s customary wife Mandisa Mkhize attended the press conference in Johannesburg.
Meyiwa was shot and killed in Vosloorus at the home of his popstar girlfriend Kelly Khumalo in 2014. The killers are still at large and the Hawks have apparently taken charge of the case. He was captain of both Pirates and Bafana Bafana at the time of his death.
“It’s great to ease the pain and also to bring to end the speculation regarding this policy pay-out matter. The important thing now is that Senzo’s murder must be solved. That will be important for justice and for the confidence of this country,” said Khoza.

Prominent football administrator and attorney Raymond Hack is the executor of the policy. ”The money will be directed at Senzo’s children. It is to benefit them financially for things like school fees and other important issues. At this stage there are only three children. If there are more than that they have to make a claim to the Guardian Trust Fund through the courts and prove their claim and if they are proved to be Senzo’s children they will receive a portion of the benefit.”
Said Siyabonga: “It was always Senzo’s wish to have his children happy in their lives. The money given to the children is the right decision from the PSL and it will hugely help the kids on their daily needs.”
